A very special song – Green and Blue – will be released on 7 August. Written in Byron Bay shortly after my friend Julie passed away, it’s a song about finding solace in nature and coming to terms with grief. Let’s take a walk down to the lake. I’ll tell you about why this place is special to me and how it’s connected to my friend Julie, who passed away and left me the money to record my album Jumping at Ghosts. Music is a refuge for me when times are tough, but there’s nothing like nature to sooth your soul. It was a bit tough to create this video, but I want to share my stories, even if they aren’t perfectly curated or scripted. I’ll have more news for you next week. The story behind the song! ‘Brand New’ started as a poem, many years ago which came back to me while writing songs for my album Jumping at Ghosts.
